Visitor Visa (Subclass 600)
The Subclass 600 Visitor Visa is for tourists, business visitors or to visit family for 3, 6 or 12 months.
There are six streams for visitor visa subclass 600: Tourist Stream (apply outside Australia), Tourist Stream (apply in Australia), Business Visitor Stream, Approved Destination Status Stream, Frequent Traveler Stream and Sponsored Family Stream.
Tourist Stream (apply outside Australia):
- This visa stream lets you visit Australia as a tourist, to go on a cruise or to visit family and friends.
- Visit friends and family, cruise or have a holiday.
- You must be outside Australia when you apply and when we decide your visa.
- Duration of stay: 3, 6 or 12 months depending on the visa granted.
Tourist Stream (apply in Australia):
- This visa stream lets you visit Australia as a tourist, to visit family and friends or for purposes other than business or medical treatment.
- Visit friends and family, cruise or have a holiday.
- If you hold another visa that is expiring and want to stay longer, this visa might suit you.
- You must be in Australia when you apply and when we decide your visa.
- Duration of stay: Up to 12 months.
Business Visitor Stream:
- This visa stream lets you visit Australia for business reasons.
- You can make a short visit for business visitor reasons, but you can’t work or sell goods or services.
- It is a single entry or multiple entry depending on the visa granted.
- You must be outside Australia when you apply and when we decide your visa.
- Duration of stay: Up to 3 months.
Approved Destination Status Stream:
- This visa stream is for citizens from certain areas of China visiting Australia on a tour organised by an approved travel agent.
- This visa lets citizens of the People’s Republic of China (excluding SARs) visit Australia with an organised tour group.
- You must remain with the organised tour group.
- Duration of stay: For the period as mentioned in the visa grant letter.
Frequent Traveller Stream:
- This visa stream is for citizens of the People’s Republic of China, Brunei, Cambodia, Philippines, Laos, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam or Timor Leste who travel often to Australia for tourism or business visitor activities.
- Visit for tourism and/or business visitor activities.
- You must be outside Australia when you apply and when we decide your visa.
- Duration of stay: The visa can be granted for up to 10 years. Stay up to 3 months each time you enter.
Sponsored Family Stream:
- This visa stream lets people who are sponsored, usually by a family member, come to Australia to see their family members.
- You must be sponsored by an eligible family member who is an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
- Sponsor might have to pay a security bond if need be.
- You must be outside Australia when you apply and when we decide your visa.
- Duration of stay: Up to 12 months.

eVisitor Visa (Subclass 651)
The eVisitor visa (subclass 651) is ideal for individuals who wish to visit Australia for tourism or business-related activities such as attending conferences or meetings. It allows for multiple entries into Australia over a 12-month period, with each stay lasting up to three months.
This visa is free of charge, can be applied online, and is electronically linked to your passport. However, it is only available to citizens of certain countries with eligible passports. Before applying, it’s important to check if your nationality qualifies under the eVisitor program.
With this Visa you can:
- Visit family or friends
- Cruise or have a holiday
- Undertake business visitor activities
- Study or train for up to 3 months, in some circumstances

Work and Holiday Visa (Subclass 462)
The Work and Holiday visa (subclass 462) allows young adults (typically aged 18 to 30) from eligible countries to live, work, and holiday in Australia for up to 12 months. This visa is a unique opportunity to explore Australia while gaining work experience and supplementing travel funds.
Holders of this visa can engage in short-term work and study, travel freely within Australia, and even become eligible to apply for a second or third Work and Holiday visa by completing specified work in regional areas. Applicants must meet education, English language, and financial requirements, and must hold a valid passport from an eligible country.
1. First Work and Holiday Visa:
- This visa lets people 18 to 30 years old (inclusive) have an extended holiday in Australia and work here to help fund their trip.
- Do short-term work in Australia to help pay for your holiday.
- Study for up to 4 months.
- Travel to and from Australia as many times as you want.
- Do 3 months of specified subclass 462 work to become eligible for a second Work and Holiday visa.
- Stay – 12 months
2. Second Work and Holiday Visa:
- This visa lets people 18 to 30 years old (inclusive) who currently hold, or who have held, a Work and Holiday visa, have a second working holiday in Australia.
- Do short-term work in Australia to help pay for your holiday.
- Study for up to 4 months.
- Travel to and from Australia as many times as you want.
- Do 6 months of specified subclass 462 work to become eligible for a third Work and Holiday visa.
- Stay – 12 months
3. Third Work and Holiday Visa:
- This visa lets people 18 to 30 years old (inclusive) who currently hold, or who have held, a second Work and Holiday (subclass 462) visa, have a third working holiday in Australia.
- Do short-term work in Australia to help pay for your holiday.
- Study for up to 4 months.
- Travel to and from Australia as many times as you want.
- Stay – 12 months
Eligibility Criteria:
- Must be 18 to 30 years old (inclusive)
- Must have a passport from an eligible country
- Must not be accompanied by dependent children
- Apply individually and can’t include family members

Working Holiday Visa (Subclass 417)
The Working Holiday visa (subclass 417) is designed for young adults aged 18 to 30 (or 35 for some nationalities) from eligible countries who want to travel and work in Australia for up to 12 months. It offers the perfect balance between adventure and income, allowing you to explore Australia while funding your stay through short-term or casual work.

Electronic Travel Authority Visa (Subclass 601)
The Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) visa – Subclass 601 allows eligible passport holders to visit Australia for tourism or business purposes. This visa is ideal for short-term stays, permitting multiple entries into Australia over a 12-month period, with each stay lasting up to three months.
The ETA is electronically linked to your passport and must be applied for outside of Australia via the Australian ETA app. It’s a fast and convenient option for travellers from eligible countries, but applicants must meet health, character, and other entry requirements.
With this Visa you can:

- Cruise or have a holiday
- Undertake business visitor activities
- Stay – Up to 3 months at a time
