Student Visa (Subclass 500)

With this Visa you can:

  • Take up an eligible course of study in Australia.
  • Work up to 48 hours a fortnight during the study duration and earn valuable experience and money.
  • Travel to your home country and back to Australia any time.
  • Duration of stay: This is a temporary visa to study up to 5 years.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Apply online from inside or outside Australia
  • Be enrolled in a course of study in Australia
  • Hold valid Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC)
  • Minimum age of 6 years or older

Student Guardian Visa (Subclass 590)
With this Visa you can:
  • Come to Australia to provide care and support for a student visa holder who is under 18 years of age or older due to exceptional circumstances.
  • Take care of multiple students at the same time.
  • Study an English Language Intensive Course for Overseas Students (ELICOS) for less than 20 hours per week, or any other study or training for no more than 3 months.
  • Duration of stay: This is a temporary visa. The length of your visa will be determined by the student visa holder’s stay and their age.
Eligibility Criteria:
  • You must be the student’s parent, custodian or relative who is 21 years or older
  • You must hold an eligible substantive visa, if in Australia.
  • You must have adequate health insurance in place
  • You must show evidence of sufficient funds to support yourself and the student during your stay
  • You must be able to provide accommodation, welfare and other support

Training Visa (Subclass 407)
With this Visa you can:
  • Take part in workplace-based occupational training activities to improve your skills for your job, area of tertiary study, field of expertise or in a professional development training program in Australia.
  • Duration of stay: This is a temporary visa. The length of your stay in Australia is for up to 2 years.
Eligibility Criteria:
  • You must be sponsored.
  • You must be invited (if your sponsor is a Commonwealth Government agency).
  • You must be nominated (unless your sponsor is a Commonwealth Government agency).

Temporary Graduate Visa (Subclass 485)
A temporary visa that allows international students to live, study and work after you have finished your studies. There are 3 different streams in this Visa type.
  • Post-Vocational Education Work Stream
  • Post-Higher Education Work Stream
  • Second Post-Higher Education Work Stream
With this Visa you can:
  • Work in Australia.
  • Bring your family with you.
  • Duration of stay: Up to 3 years depending on the chosen stream.
Eligibility Criteria:
  • You must be be aged 35 years or under when you apply.
  • You must apply for your eligible stream.
  • You must have held a Student visa in the last 6 months.
  • You must hold an eligible visa.
  • You must have a recent qualification in a CRICOS-registered course.
  • You must attach required evidence when you apply.
